Information on the Senate elections

For a strong voice in the Senate.

There are two ways to cast your vote:

1. Voting in person - on May 15, 2025

• Morning, 8.30-12.30
  in the main university building of the University of Vienna, Senate Hall, Universitätsring 1, 1010 Vienna

• Afternoon, 14.00-17.00
  at the UBB, Seminar Room 1.7, Djerassiplatz 1, 1030 Vienna

2. Postal vote

• Application for postal voting - by May 7, 2025, 17:00 at the latest

If you are unable to vote on election day for important reasons, it is possible to vote by post. This can be requested in writing by email to senat@univie.ac.at or in person at the Senate Office, stating the reason for your inability to vote (e.g. absence, illness, work-related).

• Collection of election documents from the Senate Office - by May 14, 2025, 16:00 at the latest

The documents for the postal vote can be collected in person from the Senate Office. The office is usually open Monday to Thursday from 9.00 to 15.00 and Friday from 9.00 to 13.00. It is located in the main university building.

It is also possible to have a person of trust collect the election documents, whereby a written authorisation must be submitted and the identity of the person entitled to vote and the authorised representative must be proven.

• Casting your vote - by May 14, 2025, 17:00 at the latest

If you collect your election documents in person, you can vote directly at the Senate Office.

The documents can also be sent by post. Return envelopes must then be received by the Senate Office in good time. Therefore, please take into account the time required for postal delivery.
